How to Check your Kids WhatsApp – 2024 Parents’ Guide

We live in a world where almost everyone has access to a smartphone device, including our children that might not be over the age of 10. Although the Internet is one of the best things that happened to humanity, it comes with its downsides as well, one of them being security.

Unless you’re an experienced computer user, and someone who’s extremely tech-savvy, you’ll never know who you’re talking to on the internet, and whether who they introduced to be is true or not. With all of this being said, you might be already getting the idea about what we’re trying to tell you here.

Today we’re talking about WhatsApp and a way that you can check your children’s accounts for any possible threats, so feel free to continue reading until the end.

What’s WhatsApp?

WhatsApp is a popular communication platform, which is mostly used in the corporate world to communicate with clients and employers, but it is also heavily used as a casual app. In the USA, almost everyone has a WhatsApp account, and that’s both a good and a bad thing.

Although being able to reach someone at any moment is quite good, especially if we’re talking about our kids, there is a negative side to it as well. If we can teach our kids through WhatsApp, it means that someone else can reach them too. And since everyone can use this app, it is important to know who our kids are talking to, even if it’s against “their privacy”.

How does WhatsApp work?

How does it work? WhatsApp works by registering a free profile and putting in your phone number to create your account. If you want to connect with other people, you need to add them to your contact list, and they have to add you as well, otherwise, you won’t be able to read their messages.

However, people on this app can change their names to whatever they like, and they can introduce themselves as someone else. This means that our kids can get easily tricked into taking a conversation with someone who isn’t who they appear to be, and if you’re a parent, you’ll know that this is a major “no” in your book already.

If you want to check your kid’s WhatsApp account, feel free to click here. It’s an application that will allow you to gain access to the profile and see who they’re communicating with.

How can we prevent this from happening?

If you’re a parent, it is so much better to explain to your kid why they shouldn’t engage in a conversation with strangers, or accept random friend requests on social media, than it is to simply forbid them without any explanation. Banning things always makes them want to do it even more, so if you explain them kindly while adding a fictional “horror story” about what happened once on WhatsApp, you’ll be pretty sure that they won’t be doing it anymore.

Also, feel free to check their smartphone from time to time, especially if you notice that they’re engaging in longer than usual conversations, or hiding something from you. What’s the most important is that our kids stay safe, so no matter what you do, it’s always for the greater good.
